El texto es una reseña de la edición del Libro de Alexandre hecha por Juan Casas Rigall, un gran estudioso de esta obra culmen de la poesía medieval del ámbito hispano. Es una edición actualizada respecto a la anterior del mismo autor, con mayor bibliografía, investigaciones y apéndices informativos que enriquecen la lectura de este clásico. La introducción es muy concisa y perfecta para presentar la obra y algunos de sus puntos más importantes, como su autoría, su transmisión y su traducción al castellano. La edición del extenso poema, comentado y contrastado, demuestra la labor de investigación de los textos originales y de clarificación de la narración. Después de la edición existe un apartado de “Estudios y Anexos”, para lectores más especializados y con datos filológicos y de investigación que van alrededor de la obra, sobre su contenido y su historia.
The text is a review of the edition of the Libro de Alexandre made by Juan Casas Rigall, a great scholar of this culminating work of medieval poetry in the Hispanic sphere. It is an updated edition with respect to the previous one by the same author, with more bibliography, research and informative appendices that enrich the reading of this classic. The introduction is very concise and perfect for presenting the work and some of its most important points, such as its authorship, its transmission and its translation into Spanish. The edition of the extensive poem, commented and contrasted, demonstrates the work of researching the original texts and clarifying the narration. After the edition there is a section of "Studies and Annexes", for more specialized readers and with philological and research data that go around the work, its content and its history.
