It is repeatedly said that the history of the late decades in Spanish poetry has been written in the anthologies. Besides their importance and excessive proportion, what it is certain is that this affirmation emphasizes the narrativity on which rests the historiographical intervention.Understood to be the consequence of the settling of the generational dynamics as well as the increasement of the program sections, in the 90’s there is an intensification of the critical exercise about anthologies which displaces them towards the place occupied previously by the contemporary critique. This way, the natural anthology’s relationship with the canon was modified, prevailing then the discourse and not the list of authors. In the preliminary part of this work, we will stablish a theory about the poetry anthology that underline its narrative nature to explain, then in the last section we will move on to prove its critical function in the last years of the XX century.
