En este artículo doy cuenta de un glosario hallado en Orozko (Bizkaia). Este diccionario no ha sido mencionado o descrito en ningún trabajo previo. El librillo fue encontrado en el barrio de Urigoiti durante las obras de renovación de un caserío. Aunque carece de firma y fecha, tras un examen preliminar, puede datarse en el siglo XIX y situarse en la zona de Orozko y Ayala. El objeto de esta investigación es describir sus rasgos físicos y lexicográficos, en vistas a la preparación de una edición crítica del mismo. También trabajaré sobre las posibles fuentes, tanto escritas como orales, usadas para formar el diccionario, y acerca del perfil del autor y su motivación.
Artikulu honetan Orozkon (Bizkaia) topatutako hitz zerrenda eskuizkribatu baten berri ematen dut. Orainokoan hiztegi hau ez da ezeingo ikerketa akademikotan deskribatu edo aipatu. Liburuxka Urigoiti auzoan agertu zen, baserri baten berriztapen lanetan. Egile edo data agerikorik gabe egon arren, behin-behineko azterketa baten ostean esan dezaket XIX. mendekoa dela eta inguru hartan (Orozko-Aiaraldean) idatzi zela. Ikerketa honen helburua da obratxoaren ezaugarri fisiko eta lexikografikoez aritzea, hiztegiaren edizio kritiko bat prestatzeko bidean. Hiztegia osatzeko baliatu ziren balizko iturriak, idatzizkoak zein ahozkoak, eta hiztegigilearen profila eta motibazioa ere hizpide ditut.
In this article I provide information on a handwritten glossary found in Orozko (Biscay). This dictionary has not been mentioned or described in any previous academic work. The booklet was found during renovation work at a farmhouse in Urigoiti. Even though it has no author’s name or date, after a preliminary examination I can date and locate it to the 19th century in the area of Orozko-Ayala. The purpose of this research is to describe its physical and lexicographical features, in the process of preparing a critical edition of the dictionary. I will also comment on the possible sources, both written and oral, used to form the dictionary, and the author’s profile and motivation.
