• Undoubtly, the signs that the portuguese seamen left in the Canary Islands nange over all the areas of the popular sea culture. This means that the inhabitants of the Canaries took from portuguese an important amount of specific itens which are used in order to name any aspect related to the sea world. Our aim is to eneumerate and define, in different sections, some of those portugesisms that are consolidated in the language of the Canary Islands.
