This work proposes that there is a conceptual base about the making of literature that corresponds both to the medieval Icelandic poetic and the Golden Century Hispanic poetic, and that allows us to link the escaldic practices with those from the conceptism systematized by Gracián in his study of «agudezas». The analysis applies the classification of these «agudezas» to samples taken from Snorri Sturluson´s poetic to demonstrate this convergence despite of the temporal, territorial and cultural gap that exists between both works. In order to achieve this goal, this study reviews only the contents that arise from a system of steady metaphors which variations are related to what is said, and not to how such metaphors are enunciated.
