The recommendation is a recurrent communicative operation in pediatric blogs. Within the framework of pragmatic linguistics, we use a quantitative-qualitative method to explore the linguistic realisations of the recommendation in order to observe whether the textual gender and/or the sex of the pediatrician have an impact on its choice, and we analyse the macro-act in which it is inserted. To do this, we created a corpus of blogs by male pediatricians and another by female pediatricians and used the function Wordlist and Concordance of Sketch Engine software to analyse the concordances. The results point to a greater use of affiliative strategies in the discourse of female pediatricians, in order to get closer to the addressee, gain their trust and obtain their adherence to the desired behaviour.
