Además, el texto francés de esta disposición, igualmente auténtico, revela una diferencia de sentido. ¿Cómo la han interpretado los tribunales internacionales?
This article addresses problems of interpretation arising from a provision concerning the regime of islands in international law. In particular, what should be understood by the phrase «rocks which cannot sustain human habitation or economic life of their own»? A literal interpretation leaves its meaning ambiguous or obscure. Moreover, the French text of this provision, which is equally authoritative, discloses a difference of meaning. How have international courts and tribunals interpreted this provision?
