La escasa valoración de la prosa fantástica de Amado Nervo puede atribuirse -en opinión del autor de este artículo- tanto al prestigio fulgurante que rodeó a la poesía nerviana como al primer plano que ocupan las narrativas de Darío y Lugones en la fundación del género fantástico en Hispanoamérica. De cara a esa molicie crítica, Chaves acentúa los rasgos fantásticos de los cuentos y novelas breves de Nervo, y concluye: "por la forma específica en que logra ensamblar las piezas (aunque no por su procedencia) es que Nervo goza de originalidad en el ámbito de lo fantástico modernista, razón por la que conviene releerlo y otorgarle su lugar merecido en la nómina de escritores hispanoamericanos que abordaron en su prosa los asuntos misteriosos".
The seale of valuing the fantasy type prose of Amado Nervo can be attributed -from this article author's standpoint- both to the boo· ming prestige that surrounded Nervo 's poetry and to the first plain that Dario and Lugones' narrative held in founding the fantasy type gender in Spain and Latin America. In light of this critic atmosphere, Chaves emphasizes the fantastic traits in the short stories and novels by Nervo, and quotes in closing: "for the specific way in which he manages to assemble the pieces (yet, not for its arder), Nervo possesses originality in the modernist fantastic sphere, that is why, re-reading him is desirable and giving him his well deserved place in the list of Hispanic-American writers who dealt with mysterious matters in their prose is grantable':
