Nuevas perspectivas cervantinas: Fuentes, relaciones, recepción
Cuenca : Ediciones de la Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha, 2020
[...]the collection includes essays on topics as diverse as the prominence of the figure of Rocinante in 20th- and 21st-century jazz, the use of archival records to reconstruct the social and literary context in which Cervantes composed his prose works, and the intertextual relationship among Don Quijote and the writings of various travelers to La Mancha from the 19th century onward. Francisco Javier Escudero Buendia and Miguel E Gómez Vozmediano employ a rigorous analysis of archival material to reconstruct aspects of the social milieu of La Mancha in the era of Cervantes. Escudero Buendia points to potential historical models for the character of Don Quijote, thus potentially enhancing our understanding of Cervantes's approach to character development, while Gómez Vozmediano combines treatises, literary texts, and court documents to construct a comprehensive vision of concepts of love and amorous conflict in early modern Spain.
