El diseño de fuentes tipográficas para lenguas indígenas ¿una forma de revitalización lingüística?

    Este escrito recorre algunos caminos que ha transitado la letra, específicamente, lo que ha significado para la historia de la escritura de lenguas indígenas su moldeamiento en cajas o contenedores que la han ido transformando a través del tiempo, hacia una visualidad que contiene y expresa pensamientos, más allá de la forma, la página o formato que la enmarca. Estos indicios tienen como ejes centrales: las trasformaciones que ha tenido la letra, siglos XV y XVI, su inclusión en el proceso de imprenta para lenguas indígenas en América Latina, evidenciado en algunos formatos, publicaciones y escenarios que han marcado su historia, así como en el diseño de tipografías que se han realizado para lenguas indígenas a través del tiempo, en algunos países de Latinoamérica lo que permite dar un panorama frente al proceso visual que la enmarca y lo que significa el diseño de fuentes tipográficas para lenguas indígenas en los procesos de revitalización lingüística, que implican darle vida a una lengua en peligro de extinción.

    This text goes over some roads that the word have walked, specifically, what it have meant for the history of indigenous language writing: its modeling in boxes or containers that have been shaping it throughout time, towards a visually which contains and expresses thoughts beyond form, page or format that frames it. The-se signs have as central axis: the transformations that word has had, in XV and XVI centuries. Its inclusion in printing’s process for indigenous languages in La-tin America, showing some formats, publications and stages which have marked its history. Also, the typography’ design that have been done for indigenous lan-guage throughout time in some Latin America countries, which allows giving a outlook to the all visual process that frames it and what means the typographic fountains design for indigenous languages in revitalization linguistic processes, which implicate give life to a language in extinction danger. The contexts that de-marcate this text, and allow us to know typography’s consolidation in relation to indigenous languages, recently with alphabetical notation, which can be analyzed from different fields like linguistic, but also from design and typography that in-crease and encourage the visual rules to its writing, clarifying then, that they only show some elements, the ones are pretty relevant to me, they are not invalidating the absents ones.
