    El germen de este monográfico hay que buscarlo en el I Congreso Internacional sobre enseñanza de la gramática, organizado por el Grupo de Investigación en Enseñanza de Lenguas (GIEL) del departamento de Didàctica de la Llengua i la Literatura de la Universitat de València, en febrero de 2014 y que reunió contribuciones de autores de diversas nacionalidades tanto sincrónicas como diacrónicas que se ocuparon desde distintos ángulos y perspectivas de la enseñanza de la gramática. Uno de los aspectos que se trataron allí se configura como el hilo conductor del presente volumen: la enseñanza de la gramática entendida como reflexión sobre la lengua.

    Editorial of the journal "Tejuelo", monographic issue 4, "Metalinguistic reflection and the teaching of grammar", which brings together works on the teaching of grammar in obligatory education. The germ of this monograph is to be found in the I International Congress on Grammar Teaching, organized by the Research Group in Language Teaching (GIEL) of the Department of Language and Literature Didactics of the University of Valencia, in February of 2014 and that assembled contributions from authors of diverse nationalities so much synchronous as diachronic dealing with from different angles and perspectives of the teaching of grammar. One of the aspects that were discussed there is configured as the common thread of this volume: the teaching of grammar understood as a reflection on language.
