Aceptando que todo discurso crítico es una aproximación, este artículo se acerca a la obra del artista Jesús Arias, reconocido periodista, músico y compositor excepcional y, como trato de exponer, en todo y ante todo, poeta. Una tarea necesaria por cuanto se trata de un poeta que ni siquiera ha sido asumido como tal y cuya obra aparece disgregada en multitud de elementos diversos y heterogéneos (diarios, cuadernos de trabajo, libros de poemas, canciones, ensayos de diversa índole). Un conjunto complejo que, en una línea althusseriana, cobra forma y adquiere unidad al rastrear las huellas del espesor inconsciente que lo trama para contribuir –es el valor real de la crítica a decir de Juan Carlos Rodríguez– al conocimiento objetivo de su obra, a su funcionamiento a la vez consciente e inconsciente y al modo en el que su poética se entrelaza con otras voces fundamentales de su escena como la del poeta Javier Egea a partir de lo que se ha denominado conciencia trágica que ambos heredan de García Lorca.
Accepting that all critical discourse is an approximation, this article approaches the work of the artist Jesús Arias, a renowned journalist, exceptional musician and composer and, as seen in this paper, first and foremost a poet. This is an imperative task since he is a poet who has not even been recognised as such, and whose work appears dispersed in a multitude of diverse and heterogeneous elements (diaries, workbooks, books of poems, songs, essays). A complex whole which, in an Althusserian line, takes shape and acquires unity by tracking down the traces of the unconscious density that weaves it together to contribute –this is the real value of criticism, according to Juan Carlos Rodríguez– to the objective knowledge of his work, to its conscious and unconscious functioning and to the way in which his poetics intertwines with other fundamental voices of his scene, such as that of the poet Javier Egea, based on what has been called tragic consciousness, which they both inherit from Federico García Lorca
