En este artículo se sostiene la idea de que la coherencia en la defensa de un punto de vista estrictamente realista exige la unidad entre tesis ontológicas, epistemológicas y semánticas. Tras enunciar posibles puntos de vista realistas, se discuten diferentes intentos de deconstruir el debate realismo/anti-realismo o de separar el realismo de tesis epistémicas o semánticas. En unos casos, el examen de las teorías de la verdad lleva a la conclusión de que no tiene sentido seguir manteniendo una disputa sobre el realismo; en otros casos, se intenta aún acomodar posiciones realistas independientemente de la teoría de la verdad. Todos ellos argumentan desde un punto de vista común: el rechazo del papel explicativo del concepto de verdad. Se defiende que el realismo es inseparable de una tesis semántica sobre la verdad realista, que exige algo mas que la verdad deflacionaria o epistémica para mantener su función explicativa.
In this paper, it is defended the systematic unity of a realist point of view. The realist philosopher must be committed at the same time with thesis about ontology, epistemology and semantics. After reviewing various possible realist claims, it is discussed the relevance of the debate about truth for the confrontation between realism and anti-realism and the different ways of defending realism without epistemic or semantic theses. On one hand, the dispute of realism is considered ill-conceived; on the other hand, realism is defended without a realist concept of truth. Against all these sceptical, instrumentalist and deflationary positions, it is defended that the realism is incoherent without a thesis about the realist truth; it cannot be coherently defended from deflationary or epistemic points of view.
