Aunque existen clíticos diferentes para indicar el objeto directo y el indirecto, en algunos dialectos del español ambas formas pueden confluir en la tercera persona, tanto del singular como del plural. En el presente estudio analizaremos esta confluencia denominada leísmo y trataremos de explicar las razones de su uso dentro de textos novohispanos que pertenecen a la primera mitad del siglo XVI. La explicación que damos a este fenómeno se basa principalmente en el "dominio de control" que ejerce el objeto sobre un proceso. También hemos considerado otro tipo de patrones que pueden tener influencia sobre la alternancia de estos clíticos y que difieren cuando estas formas son singulares o plurales.
Although there are different clitics to refer to the direct and the indirect object, in some Spanish dialects both forms may converge on the third person, singular and plural. In the present study we will analyze this confluence called 'leísmo' and we will try to explain the reasons why they are used in novo Hispanic texts belonging to the first half of the 16' century. Our explanation for this phenomenon is mainly based on the 'control government' the object exerts on a process. We have also considered another type of patterns that may have an influence over those clitics alternation and that differ depending on whether these forms are singular or plural.
