El texto del profesor Jiménez Sánchez, además de ser la primera tentativa por recopilar la literatura infantil contemporánea de Extremadura, constituye la experiencia viva del docente comprometido con los alumnos y respira la frescura del trabajo realizado desde la interacción que sólo se consigue en el aula. Su dedicación y sacrificio a fomentar la lectura entre los lectores en formación a través de la literatura infantil le llevó a documentar y testimoniar las huellas literarias contemporáneas en una Extremadura en la que no se ha prestado la suficiente atención a sus autores y obras, en gran medida relegadas a ediciones muy limitadas y de escasa difusión.
Por todo ello debemos felicitarnos por la perseverancia de su autor que, lejos de pretender méritos académicos u económicos con su quehacer diario, antepone la honestidad del amor al trabajo a la practicidad del mundo contemporáneo.
De modo que, presentado el monográfico, juzgue el lector por sí mismo la utilidad de esta guía de autores, que esperamos sea de utilidad para los docentes encargados de las Bibliotecas Escolares, así como de las Bibliotecas Públicas.
Professor Jiménez Sánchez's text, in addition to being the first attempt to compile contemporary children's literature from Extremadura, constitutes the living experience of the teacher committed to the students and breathes the freshness of the work carried out from the interaction that can only be achieved in the classroom. His dedication and sacrifice to promote reading among readers in training through children's literature led him to document and bear witness to contemporary literary traces in an Extremadura in which not enough attention has been paid to its authors and works, largely relegated to very limited editions and with little circulation.
For all these reasons, we must congratulate ourselves on the perseverance of its author who, far from claiming academic or economic merits with his daily work, puts the honesty of the love of work before the practicality of the contemporary world.
So, once the monograph has been presented, the reader can judge for himself the usefulness of this author's guide, which we hope will be useful for the teachers in charge of School Libraries, as well as Public Libraries.
