El presente artículo viene a sumarse a la serie de estudios que dedicamos a las particularidades del sistema verbal plasmado en el Diálogo de la lengua (Nápoles, h. 1535) del insigne intelectual y humanista español Juan de Valdés. El objetivo concreto de este trabajo es describir y analizar la realización formal, los valores semánticos (temporales y modales) y el comportamiento sintáctico del condicional en el español de la primera mitad del siglo XVI, poniendo una vez más énfasis sobre su estatuto de forma temporal perteneciente al modo indicativo
The present article is yet another contribution to the series of studies dedicated to the particularities of the verbal system represented in Diálogo de la lengua (Naples, circa 1535) by the distinguished Spanish intellectual and humanist Juan de Valdés. The specific goal of this paper is to describe and analyze the formal realization, the semantic values (temporal and modal), and the syntactic behavior of the conditional tense in the Spanish language from the second half of the XVI century, emphasizing once again the status of the temporal form that belongs to the indicative mood
