The authors of the article cicātrīx in the Lessico Etimologico Italiano (LEI) state that the formation of the term cicotrico (ib. 14,90) is not entirely clear. Based on the original textual source, our brief note demonstrates that the word resulted from an incorrect segmentation of the noun cicotriconizatoria.
