En el presente artículo se trata la figura de la esclava negra caribeña como otredad y sujeto de raza a través de los cuentos que componen la obra narrativa de Yolanda Arroyo Pizarro titulada Las Negras, publicada en 2012. La autora construye la voz de las protagonistas que narran las traumáticas vivencias que el esclavismo, el colonialismo y el sistema patriarcal supusieron. Los cuentos pretenden ser el testimonio de los abusos y de las posibles formas de rebelión de las mujeres esclavas negras del caribe hispano, quienes utilizan como arma aquellas características que el colonizador blanco les atribuye: animalización, salvajismo e incapacidad de evolución.
This article presents the figure of the black Caribbean slave as otherness and subject of race through the stories that make up the narrative work of Yolanda Arroyo Pizarro entitled Las Negras, published in 2012. The author constructs the voice of the protagonists of the traumatic experiences that slavery, colonialism and the patriarchal system entailed. The stories are intended as a testimony of the abuses and possible forms of rebellion of the black slave women on the Hispanic Caribbean, who use those characteristics that the white coloniser attributes to them as a weapon: animalisation, savagery and inability to evolve.
