Desde el margen físico y simbólico que señala la diferencia —social, étnica, de género, etc.—, Clara Obligado ofrece a través de su mirada extranjera una visión comprometida y crítica en aras de definir y acotar al migrante, invitando a repensar las convenciones sociales y las prácticas discriminatorias a él vinculadas en el contexto actual. Esta es una de las líneas temáticas que atraviesa su poética, haciendo especial hincapié en El libro de los viajes equivocados (Páginas de Espuma, 2011), y en concreto en uno de los relatos incluidos en él y al que se dedica la presente edición: «Las dos hermanas».
From the symbolic and physical scope which points out the [social, ethnical, and gender, etc.] difference, Clara Obligado offers a critical and compromised view through her foreigner insight in order to define and to narrow down the immigrant figure, leading the reader to rethink the social conventions and the discriminating practices to which the foreigner is connected in the current context. This is one of the main topics that extends through her poetics, highlighted it in El libro de los viajes equivocados (Páginas de Espuma, 2011), especially in one of the short stories included to which this edition is dedicated: «Las dos hermanas».
