Este artículo lleva a cabo un análisis de Los libros repentinos (2015), novela de Pablo Gutiérrez, a partir de dos ejes principales, el del espacio y el del lenguaje. El primero la emparenta con la novela de barrio y la tradición de la literatura realista. Por otro lado, el uso del intertexto y de los recursos lingüísticos la acerca a un formalismo vanguardista. Argumentamos que el quijotismo de la novela se apoya en el dialogismo para hacer de puente entre ambas preocupaciones. Así, Gutiérrez representa y reivindica una nueva forma de hacer novela social, innovadora en lo estético y comprometida en lo temático.
This article conducts an analysis of Los libros repentinos (2015), a novel by Pablo Gutiérrez that is grounded in two main axes: space and language. The first connects it to the neighborhood novel and the tradition of realist literature. On the other hand, the use of intertextuality and linguistic resources aligns it with avant-garde formalism. We argue that the Quixotism of the novel relies on dialogism to bridge these two concerns. In this way, Gutiérrez represents and advocates for a new way of writing social novels that is innovative in its aesthetics and committed in its themes.
