La lexicografía norperuana comienza su desarrollo con glosarios que aparecen como apéndices de cuatro obras literarias en los años 30 y 40 del siglo XX. El análisis de los repertorios permite hacer algunas reflexiones en torno a las circunstancias que favorecieron este desarrollo, en un contexto en que se puso en valor el regionalismo literario y se fomentó el interés por la cultura popular. Los cuatro glosarios fueron elaborados por los propios autores y su aparición se vio favorecida por el hecho de que fueron autores que pudieron viajar por el país y establecer el contraste entre el vocabulario regional y la norma léxica nacional. El intenso regionalismo que se impone en esos años encuentra un revulsivo en el reconocimiento del léxico provincial y encuentra en las regiones norteñas un amplio acervo de vocabulario
Northern Peruvian lexicography begins its development with glossaries that appear as appendices to four literary works in the 30s and 40s of the 20th century. The analysis of the repertoires allows us to make some reflections on the circumstances that favored this development, in a context in which literary regionalism was valued and interest in popular culture was encouraged. The four glossaries were collected by the authors themselves and their appearance was favored by the fact that they were authors who were able to travel around the country and establish the contrast between the regional vocabulary and the national lexical norm. The intense regionalism that was imposed in those years found a stimulus in the recognition of the provincial lexicon and found in the northern regions a large collection of vocabulary
