El artículo aborda la novela Otra vez el mar (1982) y la nouvelle Arturo, la estrella más brillante (1984) de ReinaldoArenas (Holguín, 1943- Nueva York, 1990) a partir de laproblematización del quehacer literario en relación con las “ficciones” subjetivas producto de la imaginación de los protagonistas. La concepción de la literatura y del lenguaje que se configura desde ambas narraciones asume un carácter bivalente y contradictorio, tensionado hacia lo testimonial por un lado y por otro hacia la fantasía como reducto de lo inefable.
The article analyzes the novel Otra vez el mar (1982) and the nouvelle Arturo, la estrella más brillante (1984) by Reinaldo Arenas (Holguín, 1943- New York, 1990) taking as point of view the conception of literary work related to the subjective fictions product of the imagination of the protagonists. The conception of literature and language configured from both narratives assumes a bivalent and contradictory character, stressed towards the testimonial and towards fantasy as a place of the incommunicable.
