This study aims to perform a brief comparative analysis of the past perfect tense of the indicative mood in the Portuguese and Spanish languages, focusing on the nuances expressed by this (these) verb tense(s) in contrast with the meanings that derive from possible translations into Portuguese. To support this analysis, we have mapped, among other authors, definitions found in the works of Bosque (2009), Matte Bon (1998), Gómez Torrego (2002); and Charaudeau; Darbord; Pottier (1994) concerning verb tenses in Spanish, and Azeredo (2010), Cunha; Cintra (1992), and Bechara (2009) with respect to the study of tenses in Portuguese. In this article, we also address the notion of temporal deixis and seek to reflect on the role of grammatical study in linguistic education.
Este estudo visa realizar uma breve análise comparativa do pretérito perfeito do modo indicativo nas línguas portuguesa e espanhola, enfocando as nuances expressas por esse(s) tempo(s) verbal(is) em contraste com os sentidos que derivam de possíveis traduções para o português. Para embasar esta análise, mapeamos, dentre outros autores, definições presentes nas obras de Bosque (2009), Matte Bon (1998), Gómez Torrego (2002) e Charaudeau; Darbord; Pottier (1994), no que tange aos tempos verbais em língua espanhola; e a Azeredo (2010), Cunha; Cintra (1992) e Bechara (2009), no que diz respeito aos estudos dos tempos em português. Neste artigo, também abordamos a noção de dêixis temporal e buscamos refletir sobre o lugar do estudo gramatical na educação linguística.
