Neste traballo, emprendemos a tarefa de ofrecer un panorama da evolución e dos alcances máis importantes da fraseoloxía serbia. Presentamos a orixe e consolidación da disciplina en circunstancias temporais e espaciais dadas, e organizámolas en dúas direccións. Na primeira, facemos un percorrido polo labor fraseográfico e paremiográfico, pasando polas primeiras coleccións de refráns, os primeiros dicionarios fraseolóxicos bilingües, o dicionario fraseolóxico monolingüe serbo-croata e, finalmente, o dicionario fraseolóxico serbio. A segunda dirección que adoptamos representa as investigacións relevantes sobre a teoría da fraseoloxía serbia, encabezadas pola obra de Dragana Mršević-Radović e outros autores eminentes que tratan temas como a determinación da disciplina, do seu obxecto de estudo e da descrición e clasificación das súas unidades. No tratamento das cuestións fraseolóxicas teóricas, representamos os principios adoptados por lingüistas serbias/ serbios (e exiugoslavos/exioguslavas) na delimitación da fraseoloxía, do seu obxecto de estudo e da nomenclatura e clasificación das súas unidades. Extraemos paralelismos coa escola fraseolóxica española e con outras escolas europeas, indicando sempre as peculiaridades da serbia, especialmente no que respecta ao ámbito de estudo e á tipoloxía das unidades fraseolóxicas.
In the paper work we undertake the task of offering an overview of the development of phraseology in Serbia, as well as representing its’ most important accomplishments. We start the investigation with describing the origin and consolidation of the discipline in given temporal and spatial circumstances, and we organize such process in two directions. Firstly, we depict the phraseographic and paremiographic work, going through the first collections of proverbs, first bilingual phraseological dictionaries, monolingual Serbian-Croatian phraseological dictionary, and f inally the Serbian phraseological dictionary. The second direction we adopt represents the relevant researches on theory of Serbian phraseology, headed by the work of Dragana Mršević-Radović and other eminent authors who address topics such as the determination of the discipline, object of its study, description and categorization of its units. In the treatment of theoretical phraseological issues, we represent the principles adopted by Serbian (and ex-Yugoslav) linguists when it comes to the description, nomenclature and classification of phraseological units. We draw parallels with the Spanish phraseological school and with other Western European schools, always indicating the peculiarities of the Serbian phraseology, especially those that regard the range of the study and the typology of the phraseological units.
