En el siguiente trabajo se presenta una aproximación a una de las manifestaciones poéticas típicas de la cultura popular chilena: los brindis. Estos brindis, tomados de unos pliegos conocidos como Lira popular chilena, fueron muy comunes a finales del siglo XIX y principios del XX, momento en el que estas publicaciones tuvieron su mayor auge. En él se comparan estos brindis con otras composiciones similares producidas en otros lugares del mundo, así como se da cuenta de la pervivencia de esta tradición hasta nuestros días.
In the following work, an approach of one of the typical poetic manifestations of Chilean popular culture —toasts— is presented. These toasts, taken from some sheets known as Lira popular chilena, were very common at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th, when these publications had their greatest boom. In it, these toasts are compared with other similar compositions produced in other parts of the world, as well as the survival of this tradition to the present day.
