Neste texto, analisa-se o papel discursivo das escolhas lexicais na construção da imagem feminina em discursos políticos parlamentares, durante o confinamento em tempos de pandemia por Covid-19, em Portugal. Centrámo-nos na análise do léxico, não numa perspetiva lexicológica, mas pragmática. Questionando o modo como o léxico contribui para a construção da imagem da mulher no debate parlamentar, estabelecemos, como objetivos específicos de investigação, analisar as escolhas lexicais na construção do debate, confrontando o vocabulário usado pelos participantes, homens e mulheres; analisar o discurso da Ministra da Saúde à data e verificar a importância das escolhas lexicais na construção da imagem de si. Os resultados obtidos vão no mesmo sentido de conclusões estabelecidas noutras investigações, apontando que as funções políticas, e o papel político-discursivo assumidos no debate, são determinantes, mais do que o género, na construção discursiva.
The aim of this article is to analyze the discursive role of lexical choices in the construction of the feminine ethos in parliamentary political speeches during confinement in times of the COVID-19 pandemic. We focused on the analysis of the lexicon, not from a lexicological perspective but from a pragmatic one. Questioning the way in which the lexicon contributes to the construction of the image of women in parliamentary debate, we set as specific research objectives to analyze the lexical choices in the construction of the debate, compare the vocabulary used by men and women, analyze the speech of the Minister of Health at the time, and verify the importance of lexical choices in the construction of the self-image. The results obtained stress the conclusions established in other studies, pointing out that political functions and the political-discursive role assumed in the debate are more decisive than gender in discursive construction.
