Este estudio tiene la intención de demostrar cómo Rosa Montero y Cristina Fernández Cubas, en momentos determinados de su trayectoria narrativa abordan un tema que a finales del siglo pasado se convierte en objeto de investigación de los Estudios de género para luego consolidarse en el siglo XXI dentro del ámbito académico: dar a conocer a mujeres ilustres que han influido en distintos sectores del saber a lo largo de la historia y cuya importancia ha sido infravalorada por el canon tradicional hasta los años ochenta y noventa. Del análisis comparativo realizado, se puede concluir que ambas autoras abandonan el canon tradicional. De hecho, Montero y Fernández Cubas relatan la historia y la personalidad de estas mujeres recurriendo a medios literarios más tradicionales como la biografía, la novela o el ensayo que recrean a través de una visión y un estilo propio, hasta otros más novedosos y de mayor difusión como los programas de televisión.
The present study intends to prove a relevant change performed by Rosa Montero and Cristina Fernández Cubas in the Spanish literary tradition. Thorought their narrative trajectories, they built a different approach over a subject that became the object of research in Gender Studies at the end of the last century: raising awareness on illustrious women who have influenced different sectors of knowledge throughout history and whose importance was undervalued by the traditional canon until the 1980s and 1990s.Based on the results of the comparative analysis carried out, we can conclude that both authors discard the traditional canon to deal with the life stories and the personality of these women. Thus, Montero and Fernández Cubas ‘revolutionize’ the literary tradition. They make use of the biography, the novel or the essay, through their own vision and style and sometimes employ innovative and wider difussion sistems of comunications such as television programmes.
