A pesar del gran impacto social y económico que tiene la automoción en todo el mundo (UNECE, 2019) y del alto volumen de traducción que este sector genera (EUATC, 2019), los estudios traductológicos centrados en este ámbito técnico en particular son aún escasos (Barba Redondo, 2015). De ello surge TECNICOR, una web en la que se recogen recursos basados en corpus para la traducción e interpretación (EN-ES) sobre la industria automotriz. Así pues, esta web permite la consulta del corpus TECNICOR, formado por MOTOCOR (un subcorpus técnico de manuales de usuario de automoción) y MOTOLEX (un subcorpus que contiene la legislación sobre automoción aplicable en la CEPE/Naciones Unidas, la UE, España y Reino Unido). Además, la web contiene un glosario técnico bilingüe (EN-ES), así como el acceso a otros recursos en línea tanto para la traducción como para la interpretación en el ámbito de la automoción.
Despite the social and economic impact of the automotive industry worldwide (UNECE, 2019) and the high volume of translations generated by this sector (EUATC, 2019), the number of translation studies focused on this technical field is still scarce (Barba Redondo, 2015). From this need arises TECNICOR, a website that collects corpus-based resources for EN-ES translation and interpreting in the automotive industry. Thus, this website gives access to the TECNICOR corpus, which consists of MOTOCOR (a technical subcorpus that includes automotive owner’s manuals) and MOTOLEX (a subcorpus that contains the legislation on automotive matters currently applicable in the UNECE, the EU, Spain and the UK). Additionally, the website includes a bilingual (EN-ES) technical glossary and provides access to other online resources for translation and interpreting in the field of the automotive industry.
