La parcialidad y las construcciones de rivalidad se expresan envarios niveles en periódicos deportivos catalanófonos e hispanófonos. A partir de un corpus de más de 500 textos periodísticos, este artículo examina hasta qué punto las desagentivaciones mediante diátesis y reordenaciones de roles semánticos generan parcialidad en la prensa deportiva en España. En estos discursos mediáticos sobre el llamado clásico del fútbol español, es decir, el Real Madrid contrael FC Barcelona, a menudose niega al otroequipo y a los otrosfutbolistas el papel de agente. En su lugar, se les desagentiviza recurriendo a diátesis recesivas, pasivas y a la diátesis con se(o esen catalán). Lo mismo ocurre con los roles semánticos supuestamente alterados, es decir, la redistribución de la estructura sintáctica en la estructura superficial de una frase podría dar al receptor del texto la impresión de que una acción o un proceso tiene la posición de agente ―aunque de facto, por supuesto, no la tiene―o una fuerza aparentemente intrínseca que se maneja sin el agente actuante real
Partiality and constructions of rivalry are expressed on various levels in Spanish sports newspapers. Based on a corpus of more than 500 newspaper texts, this article examines the extent to which deagentivations through diatheses and rearrangements of semantic roles generate partiality in the Spanish and Catalan sports press in Spain. In these media discourses on the so-called clásicoof Spanish soccer, Real Madrid versusFC Barcelona, the ‘other’ team and the ‘other’ footballers are often denied takingthe role of an agent. Instead, they are deagentified by resorting to recessive, passive and se-diatheses, in Catalan sometimes carried outases. The same applies to supposedly altered semantic roles, i.e., the redistribution of the syntactic structure on the surface structure of a sentencecould give the recipient of the text the impression that an action or a process has the agent position ―although de facto, of course, it does not―or an apparently intrinsic force that manages without the actual acting agent
