El propósito de este trabajo es hacer un recorrido histórico de la voz castellana virusen distintos documentos humanísticos, desde sus primeros testimonios hasta la primera mitad del siglo XX. Se toman, asimismo, como fuentes informativas los distintos repertorios lexicográficos académicos en los que se consignan sus significados y se comprueba si las definiciones que presentan las sucesivas ediciones discurren paralelas o próximas a las acepciones registradas en los corpus.
The purpose of this work is to make a historical review of the Castilian word virus in different humanistic documents, from its first testimonies until the first half of the 20th century. We also take as sources of information the different academic lexicographical repertoires in which theirmeanings are recorded and we check whether the definitions presented in the successive editions run parallel or close to the meanings recorded in the corpora.
