Book Review Policy
The Journal of Catalan Studies publishes reviews of books on all aspects of Catalan Studies. The journal is a resource for information and reviews of recently published work in Catalan Studies from all the disciplines listed in the Subject Catalogue. The intent is to provide fast, informative and thorough reviews by specialists in the various areas. Reviews will communicate to specialists (and non-specialists) the scope of the book's content, assess its major points and contributions, and provide the reader with a reasoned judgement about its worth. Reviewers will not be held to any arbitrary length limits, though most reviews will average five hundred to one thousand words. Authors are encouraged to respond to reviews and discuss their work with Journal of Catalan Studies readers.
Advantage of On-line Review
Subscription to the Journal of Catalan Studies is free, which is an advantage for readers since many libraries are cutting back on journal subscriptions and rising print publication costs make subscription to journals increasingly expensive for individuals. On-line publishing can eliminate the often lengthy delays that occur between the time reviewers submit reviews and their publication. The Journal of Catalan Studies is published twice a year, which makes a review available soon after the reviewer completes it.

Online conferences
It is the policy of the journal to celebrate from time to time online conferences on Catalan Studies in order to promote internationally the appreciation of this discipline. For further information about these events please contact our Conference Editor at the above address. Details relating to these conferences are also circulated on the mailing list. If you have any suggestions or proposals for colloquia of this nature you might like to discuss them with the Conference Editor.
