La traducción biosanitaria es una de las especialidades de traducción más complejas debido a su gran variedad terminológica y continuo desarrollo. El objetivo principal de este artículo es el análisis de la etimología de los términos con la raíz griega *γλυκ-, en especial de la glucosa, a causa de las diferencias ortotipográficas de los mismos en español y francés, para averiguar el origen de esas variaciones, las dificultades que acarrean y una propuesta de traducción final. Se pretende, además de sintetizar los términos, ayudar a los profesionales de la traducción en su trabajo dentro de este ámbito
Biomedical translation is one of the most complex translation specialties due to its great terminological variety and continuous evolution. The main objective of this article is to analyse the etymology of terms with the Greek root *γλυκ-, especially glucose, due to their orthotypographic differences in Spanish and French, in order to identify the origin of these variations and the difficulties they cause and suggest a definitive translation. The aim is not only to synthesise the terms, but also to help translation professionals in their work in this field
