El origen de los cuentos que tanto auge tuvieron en la Edad Media lo encontramos en los apólogos de India y Persia. Los árabes tuvieron un importante papel de intermediarios entre estos y Europa, ya que tradujeron muchos de sus textos antiguos, copiaron su técnica narrativa e hicieron sus propias contribuciones, influyendo en obras paradigmáticas de la literatura medieval europea. Este artículo hace referencia a algunos vestigios de esta influencia.
The origin of the tales that were so popular in the Middle Ages can be found in the fables of India and Persia. The Arabs played an important role as intermediaries, since they translated many of their ancient texts, copied their narrative technique and made their own contributions, influencing paradigmatic works of medieval European literatura. This article refers to some vestiges of this influence.
