    El presente trabajo estudia la novela La casa miraba al mar publicada en 1948 de la escritora chilena Luz de Viana a partir de los postulados de la teoría de la metáfora conceptual y de la poética cognitiva. Así, se analizan los dominios conceptual AMOR, DESAMOR, MAR como una manera de configuración de la novela y cómo se construye la subjetividad de la protagonista. Este trabajo tiene como objetivo general indagar en los distintos ejes temáticos de la novela con la finalidad de identificar metáforas conceptuales que involucren la subjetividad de la protagonista; y como objetivos específicos: a) emplear la teoría de la metáfora conceptual para analizar la configuración estilística novela; b) examinar la novela a partir del uso de las expresiones metafóricas que involucran subjetividad; y c) establecer una relación entre lingüística y literatura, es decir, estudiar la novela a partir de los cimientos de la poética cognitiva. De esta manera, se indagará en el rol del MAR y AMOR y cómo se obtiene el significado literario de la novela a través de distintas estrategias lingüístico-cognitivas.

    This article studies the novel La casa miraba al mar published in 1948 and written by the chilean writer Luz de Viana as early as the postulate of the conceptual metaphor theory and the cogniti-ve poetics. Thus, in this article analyses the conceptual domains LOVE, LACK OF AFFECTION, SEA like a way to configurate the novel and how it is built the subjectivity of the main character. The general objective of this work is to investigate the different thematic axes of the novel in order to identify conceptual me-taphors that involve the subjectivity of the protagonist; and as specific objectives: a) use the theory of conceptual metaphor to analyze the novel’s stylistic configuration; b) examine the novel from the use of metaphorical expressions that involve subjectivi-ty and; and c) establish a relationship between linguistics and li-terature, that is, study the novel from the foundations of cognitive poetics. In this way, the role of SEA and LOVE will be investigated and how the literary meaning of the novel is obtained through different linguistic-cognitive strategies
