Reflexiones sobre la traducción de 姐姐 /jiejie/ (“hermana mayor”) y 妹妹 /meimei/ (“hermana menor”) en Sueño de las mansiones rojas

    姐姐 /jiejie/ (“hermana mayor”) y 妹妹 /meimei/ (“hermana menor”) son nombres básicos de relaciones consanguíneas y nucleares, y, sin embargo, suponen un gran desafío al tra-ducirlos al español por las diferencias y lagunas lingüísticas y culturales entre el chino y el español. En Sueño de las mansiones rojas se han usado distintas técnicas para intentar rellenar estos vacíos. No obstante, para los nombres de las tres protagonistas formados con /jiejie/ (“hermana mayor”) y /meimei/ (“hermana menor”), las soluciones no son suficientes para transmitir lo cultural chino, con lo cual proponemos la transcripción fonética al pinyin para completar una comunicación translingüística y transcultural.

    Although 姐姐 /jiejie/ (“elder sister”) and 妹妹 /meimei/ (“younger sister”) are basic rela-tives' terms of the nuclear and consanguinity kinship, they mean a big challenge when they are translated into Spanish because of the linguistic and cultural differences and defaults between the Chinese and the Spanish. In Sueño de las mansiones rojas distinct techniques have been used to pretend to fill these defaults. But, for the address terms of the tree key female roles formed with /jiejie/ y /meimei/, the solutions are not sufficient to transmit the Chinese culture, so we propose the phonetic transcription of pinyin in order to complete a trans-linguistic and trans-cultural communication
