Esta investigación se centra en el entorno de un grupo de temporeros malienses —ubicado en un pequeño municipio de la provincia de Salamanca, en el noroeste de España— con el objetivo de analizar los factores que influyen en la adquisición de español/L2 y en la integración social del grupo objeto. Se trata de un estudio llevado a cabo durante tres años en el que se han empleado instrumentos de corte cualitativo —propios de la etnografía— junto a un cuestionario que permite obtener datos cuantificables. La muestra consta de 40 participantes procedentes del grupo meta —habitantes del municipio y compañeros de trabajo de los inmigrantes— y 57 temporeros extranjeros, ascendiendo la suma total a 97 individuos. Los resultados obtenidos llevan a confirmar que entre los dos grupos prevalece una cierta convivencia pacífica, pero no inclusiva, que repercute en la adquisición de la lengua y en la integración real del colectivo objeto. Por ello, habría que adoptar medidas para fomentar la interculturalidad y, por tanto, el enriquecimiento mutuo de ambos grupos
This research focuses on the environment of a group of Malian seasonal workers, located in a small municipality in the province of Salamanca, in northwestern Spain. The objective is to analyze the factors that influence the acquisition of Spanish as a second language and the social integration of the target group. This is a study carried out over three years, employing qualitative instruments —typical of ethnography— alongside a questionnaire that allows to obtain quantifiable data. The sample consists of 40 participants from the target group —residents of the village and colleagues of the immigrants— and 57 foreign seasonal workers, bringing the total to 97 individuals. The results confirm that a certain peaceful coexistence prevails between the two groups, but it is not inclusive, impacting language acquisition and the actual integration of the target group. Therefore, measures should be taken to promote interculturality and, consequently, the mutual enrichment of both groups.
