La identidad narrativa, que combina psicología, narratología y ciencia cognitiva, se usa para analizar realidades individuales y grupales a través de relatos identitarios, conocidos como relatos maestros. Este artículo analiza textos de autores chicanos en la revista texana Memorias del silencio: Footprints of the Borderland para identificar su identidad transcultural. Los resultados destacan el cruce de la frontera como tema común, desmintiendo el sueño americano único, pues las motivaciones varían entre persecución y huida; y los resultados incluyen tanto éxitos como fracasos, generando un sentimiento nostálgico del pasado.
Narrative identity, which combines psychology, narratology, and cognitive science, is used to analyze individual and group realities through identity narratives, known as master narratives. This article analyzes texts by Chicano authors in the Texan magazine Memorias del silencio: Footprints of the Borderland to identify their transcultural identity. The results highlight border crossing as a common theme, refuting the American dream, as motivations vary between persecution and escape; and the outcomes include both successes and failures, generating a nostalgic feeling for the past.
