El presente estudio de Recado confidencial a los chilenos arroja luz sobre unos aspectos tanto estructurales como contextuales de la discursividad mapuche de Elicura Chihuailaf, en sus matices poéticos y políticos. A raíz de los debates actuales acerca de la “cuestión mapuche”, nuestra investigación dará cuenta de la manera en que Chihuailaf, en tanto “sujeto subalterno”, revierte la dialéctica de la otredad y dibuja un espacio que no está marcado por líneas de separación y distancia. El espacio intermedio configurado por un tipo de “discurso heteroglósico” funcionaliza una nueva perspectiva intercultural de confrontación crítica y negociación de significados. De este modo, el autor de Recado confidencial propone un “paradigma otro” porque cambia no sólo el contenido, sino también los términos de la conversación y, desde los márgenes del campo social y literario, renueva la posibilidad de “co-existir en la diversidad”.
The present study of Recado confidencial a los chilenos sheds light on both structural and contextual aspects of Elicura Chihuailaf’s Mapuche discursiveness, along with its poetic and political nuances. Considering the current debates on the “Mapuche question”, our research will illustrate how Chihuailaf, as a “subordinate subject”, reverses the dialectic of otherness and creates a space that is not confined by boundaries and distances. A new intercultural perspective of critical confrontation and meaning negotiating is functionalized through a type of “heteroglossic discourse” in the liminal space. Thus, the author of Recado confidencial proposes an “alternative paradigm” because it shifts not only the content, but also the terms of conversation. From the margins of the social and literary field, it renews the possibility of “co-existing in diversity”.
