El día 29 de octubre recordábamos en España la terrible DANA que desencadenó, un año atrás, la muerte de, al menos 237 personas, dejando un paisaje dantesco y una sociedad conmocionada. Estas aguas devastadoras nos hacen evocar realidades y misterios, la Cultura del Agua en su plenitud. Con este brillante artículo del profesor Eloy Martos, referente indiscutible en los estudios sobre los imaginarios del agua, queremos rendir homenaje a todas aquellas personas que sufrieron directamente esa fuerza destructora de la naturaleza, pero querríamos al mismo tiempo, tratar de reconciliarlas con esas aguas y sus entornos, y sus porqués de determinados sucesos, el porqué de la necesidad del respeto continuo hacia ese elemento rico y preciado, indispensable para la vida, que no sería tan temible si verdaderamente se le reconociera en toda la amplitud de su realidad y se gestionara de manera adecuada. On October 29, we remembered in Spain the terrible storm dana (cut off low pressure system). A year earlier, it caused the death of at least 237 people, leaving behind a Dantesque landscape and a shocked society. These devastating waters evoke realities and mysteries –the Culture of Water in its fullness. With this beautiful article by Professor Eloy Martos, an undisputed reference in studies on water imaginaries, this article seeks to pay tribute to all those who suffered (and still suffer) directly from this destructive force of nature. At the same time, it hopes to find reconciliation with these waters, their environments, and the reasons behind certain events– the reason for the continuous need to respect this rich and precious element. An indispensable element for life, which would not be so fearsome if it were truly respected in all its reality, and managed appropriately. From here, we extend our deepest solidarity to all those who were and are victims of this tragic event in our recent history.
