This article aims to study the possible artistic influences on Quevedo’s poem «Amor, prevén el arco y la saeta», inserted in the cycle of pastoral sonnets of the muse Euterpe. It is likely that the author from Madrid used the version of the myth of Jupiter and Europa reproduced by Titian in his painting The Rape of Europa, who, in turn, seems to imitate the beginning of Leucippe and Clitophon, by Achilles Tatius, to the detriment of the canonical Ovidian Metamorphoses. This network of inter-artistic connections would reveal a certain Quevedesque interest in painting and would justify a possible influence of this discipline on his verses.
