La traducción de un RCP veterinario puede suponer un desafío mayor de lo que un traductor especializado en medicina humana podría imaginar. En este artículo resaltamos las principales características que presenta: desde las referencias a seguir (EMA, EDQM, AEMPS) a las diferencias de la plantilla veterinaria respecto a su versión humana (sobre todo en el apartado «Datos clínicos») o incluso las formas farmacéuticas y las vías de administración puramente veterinarias, como las premezclas medicamentosas que se utilizan en el pienso de los animales. También respondemos al final del mismo a la pregunta sobre la posible existencia de un «MedDRA» veterinario.
Translating a veterinary SPC can be a bigger challenge than a translator who specializes in human medicine might think. In this paper, we will review the main features of a veterinary SPC, from the references to be used (EMA, EDQM, AEMPS) to the differences between the veterinary and human templates (primarily in the �Clinical particulars� section). We will also include pharmaceutical forms and routes of administration that are exclusively veterinary, such as medicated premixes used in animal feed. Finally, we will look at whether a �veterinary MedDRA� exists and is used in the industry.
