In 1973 Uruguay, following the path of some South American countries of the period, starts its particular way through a dictatorship that will last until 1985 carrying, among many other consequences, the exodus of almost all its intellectual class. Cristina Peri Rossi (Montevideo, 1941) will not be an exception: soon after the strike to the government, which ends with the mentioned dictatorship, the writer moves to Barcelona and writes her first book of tales, La tarde del dinosaurio (1976), where the subject of the exile takes place through the stare of a child that gets to feel the moment of dissolution. As the writer explained in an interview: "[...] exile has been a mandatory reflection about the other, other time and other space [...]. I felt as if I had traveled through space and in doing so, I traveled through time as well". In this other time-space coordinate, unusual and atemporal, this communication pretends to enter in the subtle yet persistent interrelation between the traumatic living of Cristina Peri Rossi and its representation in a series of texts that turn and experiment around it, either melting borders, mixing coordinates or building new realities.
