O presente artigo céntrase en primeiro termo no que supón o feito de realizar novas traducións ao galego dunha serie mundialmente coñecida como Astérix, ben asentada no imaxinario dos lectores e lectoras desde hai anos. A seguir, abórdanse brevemente as relacións entre tradutores e empresas editoras responsables ao longo do proceso de edición, e ofrécense uns apuntamentos sobre as traducións existentes. O corpo do traballo pretende dar conta dos principais desafíos que propoñen as aventuras destes heroes galos, sempre baixo os seus condicionamentos fundamentais: a necesidade de manter o humor na lingua meta e o respecto á particular interdependencia entre imaxe e texto que fundamenta a linguaxe da banda deseñada. A través de exemplos concretos, explícanse algunhas das solucións adoptadas para traducir ao galego os elementos humorísticos.
The present article is first of all focused on the fact of dealing with new translations into Galician of a world-wide famous series such as Astérix, which has been solidly settled in the reader’s imaginary for years. Secondly, we intend both to briefly analize the relationship between translators and publishing houses during the editing process of the series and to make some remarks on the existing translations up to date. These writings pretend to show the main challenges developed all over the adventures lead by these Galic heroes, always under two basic conditions: the need for a permeate humor in the target language and the constant respect for the particular interdependence between image and text, real basis of the comic communication system. By using specific examples, this article explains some of the solutions we used in order to translate from French into Galician several comical elements.
