Este artículo trata de reflexionar acerca de las principales características que presenta el contacto histórico entre el español y el portugués, enfatizando en aquellas que identifican este especial contacto de lenguas entre los otros que afectan al español y ejemplificándolas con fenómenos existentes en las diversas zonas americanas donde se produce. Además, se facilita una descripción del español lusitanizado a partir de los datos de diferentes artículos y se plantea una serie de cuestiones que necesitan ser estudiadas en el futuro.
This paper aims to take into consideration the main features caused by the historical contact between Latin American Spanish and Portuguese. Special emphasis has been given to those features which identify this contact of languages in the Spanish-speaking world, while examples of these phenomena as they are produced in different areas in America have been also provided. Moreover, a description of Lusitanized Spanish based on the data from different articles has been provided and certain questions that need to be studied in the future have been posed
