El sinsentido de la guerra de Malvinas no se debió a que fuera una guerra que no podía ganarse, sino a que fue una guerra que no convenía ganar (ganarla habría supuesto seguramente una prolongación de la dictadura militar imperante). Esa ausencia de sentido plantea un desafío visceral a las narraciones de la guerra, que se encara de maneras distintas según se trate de narraciones ficcionales o testimoniales.
The nonsense of the Malvinas War was not due to the fact that it was a war that could not be won, but because it was a war that should not be won (winning it would for sure have involved an extension of the prevailing military dictatorship). This absence of meaning poses a visceral challenge to war narratives, and it is approached in different ways, depending on whether they are fictional or testimonial narratives.
