Este artículo busca resaltar una figura poco estudiada en la historia del cuento modernista y de la literatura femenina del siglo xx en Colombia. En él se aborda la obra narrativa de la escritora Lydia Bolena, publicada en la prensa colombiana y extranjera entre 1912 y 1947. Una parte importante de esa obra fue recopilada en el libro Comprimidos (1929). El presente estudio explora algunos elementos característicos de la narrativa modernista en esta obra, tanto formales (construcción precisa y austera), como temáticos (cosmopolitismo, presencia de la ciudad, esteticismo), e igualmente la voz de la mujer del siglo xx.
This article seeks to highlight a little-studied figure in the history of the modernist short story and twentieth-century women's literature in Colombia. It deals with the narrative work of the writer Lydia Bolena, published in the Colombian and foreign press between 1912 and 1947. An important part of that work was compiled in the book Comprimidos(1929). This study explores some characteristic elements of the modernist narrative, both formal (precise and austere construction), and thematic (cosmopolitanism, presence of the city, aestheticism), and also the voice of the 20th century woman.
