Carlota Remfry was a writer and translator of the Novecentist period who can be included among the professional women translators and writers of the so-called Edad de Plata in Spanish culture. In spite of being a bi-directional and multilingual translator of scientific and literary texts, references to her and her work tend to focus on localist aspects and do not investigate in depth the signifi-cance of her production. Remfry translated symbolic novels by contemporary authors, such as Marie-Claire(1911) by Marguerite Audoux into Spanish, La Vagabonde(1910) by Colette orDie abenteuer der biene Maja(1912) by Waldemar Bonsels, into English. Her translation into English of Gabriel Miro's Nuestro Padre San Daniel(1921) demonstrates her skills as a translator and indicates a significant editorial project, which reveals a close collaboration between the author and the translator noticeable in the textual (lexis) and the cultural (identification) aspects of the English translation, as well as in the arrangements of the publication.
