Observamos allí una fuerte proliferación de estos productos semióticos denominados MEMES. El artículo pretende ser una aproximación inicial al fenómeno teniendo en cuenta las múltiples características del i-meme a la luz de los planteos de Steimberg (1993). El meme en tanto género en su “carácter de institución –relativamente estable-, puede definirse como clases de textos u objetos culturales, discriminables en todo lenguaje o soporte mediático, que presentan diferencias sistemáticas entre sí, y que en su recurrencia histórica instituyen condiciones de previsibilidad en distintas áreas del desempeño semiótico e intercambio social” (1993, p. 1). Desde este lugar, el i-meme en tanto género con un conjunto de regularidades, ha posibilitado la postulación de condiciones de previsibilidad y la descripción con mayor nitidez de sus rasgos temáticos y retóricos.
From the government measures of social, preventive and mandatory isolation, remote communication platforms became reservoirs of the social bond. We observe there a strong proliferation of these semiotic products called MEMES. The article aims to provide an initial approach to the phenomenon, taking into account the multiple characteristics of the i-meme in light of Steimberg’s proposals. The meme as a genre in its “institutional character -relatively stable-, can be defined as classes of texts or cultural objects, discriminable in any language or media support, which present systematic differences among themselves, and that in their historical recurrence establish conditions of predictability in different areas of semiotic performance and social exchange” (1993, p. 1). From this point of view, the i-meme is both a genre with a set of regularities, it has allowed for the postulation of predictable conditions and genre descriptions articulate thematic and rhetorical features more clearly.
