El propósito de este trabajo es realizar un estudio historiográfico de la recepción del método Berlitz en España. Tomando como punto de partida las dos vertientes de la historiografía, y a través de un corpus de publicaciones en prensa de los años en los que se mantiene vigente, se busca analizar el impacto del método y su evolución además de atender a cómo se reflejan sus propuestas y contenidos lingüísticos desde el principal medio de difusión de la época. Con todo ello, se realizará una comparación con los contenidos de los manuales, se completará la información del método y se estudiará el papel de la prensa en su éxito.
This article offers a historiographical study of the reception of the Berlitz method in Spain. Using the two perspectives of historiography and a corpus of press publications, the study aims to ana-lyse the impact of the method and its evolution, as well as an examination of how its proposals and linguistic content are reflected in the press. The corpus information will allow us to compare with the manual's contents, complete the information on the method and study the role of the press in its success.
