Este estudio examina las traducciones de la poesía Tang al español realizadas por Marcela de Juan, destacando su enfoque pionero de “domesticación”, que adapta el contenido sin notas explicativas y prioriza la fluidez en español. En Beber solo bajo la luna (月下独酌) de su antología Poesía china: Del siglo XXII a. C. a las canciones de la Revolución Cultural (1973), Marcela de Juan logra transmitir la esencia emocional de poetas como Li Po, empleando una interpretación más accesible y menos literal. Su contribución ayudó a presentar la poesía china en un contexto de escaso intercambio cultural, brindando una visión positiva y accesible de esta literatura en el mundo hispano.
This study examines Marcela de Juan's translations of Tang poetry into Spanish, highlighting her pioneering “domestication” approach, which adapts the content without explanatory notes and prioritizes fluency in Spanish. In Drinking Alone Under the Moon (月下独酌) from her anthology Chinese Poetry: From the 22nd Century B.C. to the Songs of the Cultural Revolution (1973), Marcela de Juan manages to convey the emotional essence of poets such as Li Po, employing a more accessible and less literal interpretation. Hercontribution helped to present Chinese poetry in a context of scarce cultural exchange, providing a positive and accessible vision of this literature in the Hispanic world.
